Assistant Event Planner
The Assistant Event Planner will be expected to help with all aspects of the event day, under the direction of the lead event planner.
Tasks include, but are certainly not limited to:
Behind-the-scenes work
Assisting guests
Tending to the wedding party
Setting up, detailing, and breaking down items such as programs, escort cards, decor, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, welcome tables, the guest book, blankets, etc.
Directing the wedding party prior to and during the ceremony
Greeting guests, answering questions, directing them to bathrooms
Receiving gifts/cards and placing them in the designated location
Interacting with venue staff and vendors
Tidying up and re-supplying the bathroom
Skills:
The perfect assistant will be extremely detail-oriented, professional, provide excellent customer service, and always have a smile (even when guests are driving you nuts). The ability to take direction well and think quickly on their feet is an absolute must, as well as having a positive attitude at all times, especially under stressful situations. The assistant must be able to take directions as well as be proactive and work unsupervised. An upbeat personality, excellent customer service, and a sense of humor are absolutely necessary.
Experience:
Experience in the hospitality industry is required. It is beneficial to have experience in high-end catering, events, restaurants, or hotels.
Physical Requirements:
The assistant will be on their feet for many hours (10-16) at a time and be able to move furniture and décor.
Attire:
Professional, conservative, and cute/stylish
No bra straps, cleavage, or underwear showing
Closed-toe shoes are required at all times
