Napa and Sonoma Wedding Planner

We take care of all the little details, so you can just focus on your family, your guests and each other.

Plan what matters most to you and leave the rest to us.

Want to entrust us with everything except the cake tasting and the reception playlist? We’ll get a sense of what you value and create a wedding that feels deeply personal, asking you for input when it’s make-or-break.

Or, if you’d prefer to hand-pick your vendors, choose your linens and chairs, and decide which wines are served at dinner, we’ll make the recommendations you need.

Either way, we’ll be there on your wedding day, clipboard in hand, to make sure the place settings are just so, the cocktails are flowing, and no one has to lift a finger to tidy up afterward.

The professionalism, the know-how, and their relationship with the vendors - they were everything.

“Booking Lovely Day Events was easily the best decision of our entire wedding experience. They made sure we were hitting all of our planning goals, and our check-ins were crucial to our wedding planning. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect due to Lindsey and her team.” - Erik

How we can work together

Full-Service Planning

The more you read about planning a wedding, the more you realize how much is involved. As your full-service wedding planner, our job is to ensure that wedding planning doesn’t take over your life.

While we handle the contracts and logistics, you get to do the parts that make you happy (menu tastings, anyone?). Beyond the logistics, of course, we’ll design a gorgeous event that your guests will rave about for years to come.

Our full-service planning service includes:

  • Monthly planning meetings so you are not stressed out

  • 1 site visit

  • Referrals to trusted vendors

  • Local knowledge on Napa and Sonoma wedding venues

  • Vendor communication management

  • Wedding design

Average investment $14,500-$20,000+

Wedding Weekend

Your guests have traveled from afar to celebrate with you. Hosting multiple events on your wedding weekend lets you spend more time with them (and show off everything wine country has to offer).

We’ll work with you to plan a distinctive welcome event, an exceptional ceremony and reception, and any other events you have in mind. Think a relaxed farewell brunch with a mimosa bar, or a grab-and-go bagel station as guests head to the airport.

Our wedding weekend service includes:

  • Full-service wedding planning plus

  • Planning for a welcome event

  • Additional events as desired (after-party, farewell brunch, pool party)

    Average investment $25,000 - $35,000

Partial Planning

We know that not every couple wants (or needs) a full-service wedding planner. But you want to spend your wedding day soaking up the love from friends, family, and each other—not worrying about the timeline or whether the bakery dropped off the cake yet. As a partial planning client, you get our recommendations for the best local wedding vendors.

We’re also there to support you in the months leading up to the wedding. We’ll field emails from your vendors and create your timeline so that you can focus on finishing your seating chart (or fitting in one last pre-wedding spa appointment).

And on the wedding day, we’re there to make sure everyone’s where they’re supposed to be, when they’re supposed to be there.

Our partial planning service typically includes:

  • 3 initial planning meetings and 3 meetings in the lead-up to your wedding day

  • 1 site visit

  • Referrals to trusted vendors

  • Vendor oversight & communications

  • The option to add on design

    Investment ranges from $8,500 - $14,000+

Becoming A Lovely Day Events Couple

If we’re available on your date, we’ll set up a short call so we can learn about you and your vision for the day, as well as how involved you want to be with planning. You can also ask us any questions you have about getting married in Napa or Sonoma.

Then we’ll send over a customized proposal based on your guest count, the events you’re planning, and the planning approach that best fits your needs.

Lovely Day Events might be the wedding planner for you if:

  • The most important thing about your wedding is having everyone you love in one place

  • You want a tasteful, personal wedding, but you’d be lying if you said that you’ve been planning your dream wedding since you were 7 years old

  • You’re not from wine country and you want a local wedding planner who knows the area—and the vendors—really well

  • The more you learn about wedding planning, the more daunting all the details feel

  • You already have a full-time job, and you don’t want to add wedding planning on top of that

  • You’re a dog person (not a requirement, but if you want a planner who will gush over your dog as much as you do, we’re the one)

Lindsey offered exactly the guidance we needed.

“She helped us select reputable and highly skilled vendors who are also wonderful people like her (trust her recommendations, you won’t regret it!). But she also helped with little things like figuring out what kind of sunscreen wouldn’t ruin my dress or which restaurants in Napa had private space large enough for our rehearsal dinner. I didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding or even the days leading up to it.” - Kelly

If you have questions about planning a Sonoma or Napa wedding with Lovely Day Events…we have answers

  • No two weddings are the same, from guest count to tiny details. (What you can’t imagine a wedding without, someone else might never even think of having.)

And we like to say that Sonoma and Napa weddings are the Whole Foods of weddings. Everything’s nicer, everything’s beautiful, everything’s well-thought-out…and as a result, everything costs more than it might elsewhere.

On average, our couples host around 120 guests, and they spend between $120,000-$300,000 on their venue and wedding day vendors (planner, florist, caterer, photographer, etc.). This doesn’t include their attire, honeymoon, paper, or any other wedding weekend events.

Want a more detailed breakdown? We’ve been planning weddings in wine country for over 15 years (yes, even before Instagram or Pinterest), so we put together a blog post with budget insights from real weddings, taking into account guest counts.

  • Yes—we work in parallel with your venue’s coordinator, but we’re not doing the same thing. They’re responsible for food and beverage service and coordinating their on-site staff.

As your wedding planner, our job is to handle everything else, from sourcing and managing your dream vendors to creating your event design. On the wedding day itself, we’re there to support you, keep things on time, and also make sure that vendors have everything they need to do their jobs.

  • At Lovely Day Events, this is known as Essential Planning, and we take on only a few clients a year.

You’ll often hear the term “day-of coordinator,” but for a wedding to run smoothly, there’s work to be done in advance. Our package lets you be hands-on with planning and vendor selection, while getting our help with contract reviews, a detailed timeline, your rehearsal, and much more.

  • Of course! About half of our clients each year are from the Bay Area, while the rest come from all around the United States and the world. And it’s no wonder—there’s something special about weddings in wine country.

As a local Napa & Sonoma wedding planner, we know a thing or two about what makes for a beautiful, low-stress wedding here—from which months are unexpectedly rainy to who makes the best gluten-free cakes in wine country.

If you’re planning from afar, we’ll work together via video calls and email. When you schedule an in-person site visit, I’ll be right there with you.

  • A resounding yes! We welcome LGBTQ+ couples and have ample resources to help you plan an LGBTQ+ wedding in Napa or Sonoma.

Want a peek at some of the LGBTQ+ weddings we’ve planned in the past? Check out this stunning Beltane Ranch wedding or this romantic wedding at Beringer Winery.

  • You’re going to be working closely with your wedding planner in the lead-up to the day—more so than any other vendor. So not only do you want someone who can deliver on your vision, but you also want someone you genuinely enjoy being around.

We want our couples to feel like they’re working with an old friend who just happens to excel at wedding planning. And to give each of our couples the time and attention they deserve, we only take on a limited number of weddings each year.
