HoneyBook 20 on the Rise Nominee, Event Professional - Lindsey Nickel

Last year I was honored and thrilled to be nominated for HoneyBooks 20 on the Rise, in the event professional category. It’s wild to think that this will be my tenth season as a wedding planner. HoneyBook didn’t even exist ten years ago, heck Instagram didn’t even exist! Now both of those platforms are tools that I use in my businesses every day.

20 On The Rise is a celebration of individuals who are making waves and raising the tide, rocking their respective industries through hard work and creativity. Nominations are based on empowerment, impact, purpose, and passion. It really is a giant honor to be nominated for a business that I started as a side job at my kitchen table, during the time when the economy was in pretty horrible shape. I am beyond flattered and humbled to be part of the event community as a wedding planner, educator and supporter. I am extremely grateful for all of the clients that trusted us with their weddings and the vendors (many of which are now my friends) that were part of each of those memorable days.

Being a wedding planner means that I am part of creating a day that two people will remember for the rest of their lives. I pour everything I have into every wedding and have a notable amount of anxiety during the year while planning because I want the couple to be happy.

Being a business coach for wedding planners means that I provide no fluff education and uplift others. The concept of online business coaches, and sharing your knowledge didn’t exist for wedding planners when I got started. Everything I learned was from trial and error and from talking to my fellow vendors about what worked and didn’t work for them. Thankfully, wedding planners don’t have to learn everything by trial and error anymore.

I always strive to be grateful for what I have each day, do the right thing, have fun and provide value for my clients. This nomination is an appreciated affirmation that I’m on the right track.  Thank you for the nomination!
