Why I Love Planning Harvest Inn Weddings
From a wedding planner's perspective, a Harvest Inn wedding offers a deeply personal and visually stunning experience that feels both intimate and grand. One of the biggest advantages is the venue's natural beauty — the combination of vineyard rows, mature redwood trees, and classic brick architecture creates an inherently romantic setting that requires minimal additional design to feel complete and magical.
Having planned Harvest Inn weddings for more than 10 years, I've seen the property through different evolutions and know every corner intimately. For example, you don’t need patio umbrellas on the Manor House Lawn since the redwood trees provide plenty of shade. At the Vineyard View Terrace guests love to go into the vineyard at sunset to take selfies. This familiarity allows me to anticipate logistics, recommend the best photo opportunities, and create a seamlessly flowing timeline that takes full advantage of the grounds for your wedding.
The venue's classic layout—ceremony on the Vin Rose Lawn, cocktail hour on the Manor House Lawn, dinner on the Vineyard View Terrace, and dancing in the Vineyard View Room—creates a natural progression throughout the evening that feels intentional and effortless. Each new space is a new experience for your guests.

Lodging is another major highlight. With guest rooms located directly on the property, couples and their friends and family can stay together all weekend, creating a relaxed, destination experience. In addition, St. Helena and nearby Napa offer an abundance of accommodations, including the budget-friendly El Bonita just .2 miles down the road, along with the Napa Hilton and Marriott for guests who prefer well-known brands with accessible pricing. This range of options means couples can comfortably accommodate guests at various price points while keeping everyone close to the celebration.
And then there's the food…truly outstanding! Harvest Inn is known for its award-winning culinary team and seasonally inspired cuisine, beautifully presented and consistently delicious. From cocktail hour apps to the final course, every detail is thoughtfully executed, creating a dining experience that feels just as memorable as the wedding itself. For couples who value exceptional food, vineyard views, and a beautifully designed event, Harvest Inn St Helena weddings delivers on every level.
“Lindsey was absolutely lovely to work with. We hired her over a year out from our wedding, and she walked us through absolutely everything from start to finish to ensure our wedding weekend was stress-free. She is organised, professional, and has great relationships with so many local vendors, which made for sourcing the best talent effortless. She took an interest and time to really get to know my partner and I so our day was tailored to our personalities and aesthetics. I can see why our venue recommended working with Lindsey; she is the real deal and will make sure you have a beautiful event!”

What Ceremony and Reception Spaces are Available for a Harvest Inn St. Helena Wedding
Harvest Inn offers a variety of breathtaking spaces for both ceremonies and receptions, giving couples the flexibility to design a wedding that flows beautifully from one moment to the next.

Ceremony- Vin Rose Lawn
For wedding ceremonies, the Vin Rose Lawn is a natural first choice. With 1,600 square feet nestled alongside the vineyard and framed by breathtaking views of the Mayacamas Mountains in the distance and a white rose garden, this idyllic space accommodates up to 120 guests. The combination of vineyard rows and mountain backdrop creates a quintessentially Napa setting that feels both romantic and timeless.

Cocktail Hour - Manor House Lawn
The Manor House Lawn offers 2,500 square feet of meticulously manicured grass framed by lush botanical gardens. This elegant space is a perfect option for the cocktail hour since it is centrally located between the ceremony and dinner locations. The large lawn is in a circle of large redwood trees, so guests can enjoy cocktails without being too hot.
INSIDER TIP: Ask Harvest Inn about renting their lawn games so that guests have some easy entertainment, plus it’s a great conversation starter for people who don’t know each other.

Dinner - Vineyard View Terrace
For dinner, the Vineyard View Terrace is the crown jewel. With 1,600 square feet with views of the vineyard and mountains, this space is ideal for al fresco dining under the stars. The existing market lights overhead create a magical ambiance, transforming dinner into a truly unforgettable experience. The terrace serves as the perfect spot for a first dance with the vineyards glowing in the background.

Dancing - Vineyard View Room
The Vineyard View Room is where the celebration continues after dinner. With 1,050 square feet, dramatic beamed ceilings, oak wood floors, and a large stone fireplace, this indoor space is perfect for dancing. The existing hardwood floor means no dance floor rental is necessary, and because you're indoors, you can keep the party going past 10:00 pm with amplified music — a rare and valuable feature in Napa County, where outdoor sound restrictions apply.
INSIDER TIP: Napa County enforces sound restrictions after 10:00 pm for outside music. Have your dance party inside the Vineyard View room and dance past 10:00pm keep the energy high without worrying about noise ordinances.

INSIDER TIP: The Fountain Terrace, with its dramatic central fountain and redwood trees, offers 1,500 square feet for more intimate gatherings — perfect for rehearsal dinners, welcome receptions, or a farewell brunch.

What Type of Couple Will Love a Harvest Inn St. Helena Wedding?
Harvest Inn is ideal for couples who want a classic wine country wedding experience that feels both destination-oriented and accessible. It's especially perfect for those who want their guests to stay on-site, creating a true weekend celebration, while still offering excellent nearby lodging options at a range of price points. With El Bonita offering budget-friendly rooms just minutes away and well-known hotel brands in Napa easily accessible, couples can comfortably accommodate every guest's style and budget.
This wedding venue is a dream for couples who appreciate natural beauty and want a setting that feels effortlessly romantic without adding stress. The vineyard views, redwood trees, and charming brick architecture create an inherently photogenic backdrop that translates beautifully in wedding photos and allows the couple's personal style to shine through.
Harvest Inn is also perfect for couples who are looking for a full bar experience. Unlike some wine country venues that are only permitted to serve wine and beer, Harvest Inn provides a complete bar with spirits, giving guests a wider range of cocktail options and creating a more festive atmosphere.
INSIDER TIP: Work with the Harvest Inn to craft a signature cocktail that's so you two — name it after the beach where you got engaged, your chaos gremlin of a dog, or the European city from your first big trip together. Guests will love sipping something with a story. 🍹✨

Location matters, too. Harvest Inn's St. Helena setting places couples close to some of Napa Valley's best restaurants and wineries, including Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch — an ideal spot for welcome dinners or post-wedding brunches. The venue's proximity to downtown Napa also makes it convenient for guests flying in or exploring the valley during the wedding weekend.
Ultimately, Harvest Inn is perfect for couples seeking a beautifully classic, joyful, and warmly executed wedding weekend — one that feels authentic to wine country, visually stunning, and deeply meaningful for both them and their guests.
“Words cannot express how amazing Lindsey is!!! She is amazing! Lindsey stuck with us through a Covid cancellation, eighteen months, and three reschedules without blinking an eye. Take it from us, whatever you imagine your special day like, Lindsey will make it a thousand times less stressful, more streamlined, and more fun! Lindsay’s kindness, professionalism, and industry expertise are beyond expectations, and it was the best experience getting to know her. Go with Lindsey! It’ll be the best choice you make for your wedding day!”

Insider Tips for Harvest Inn St. Helena Weddings
One of the biggest perks of hosting a Harvest Inn wedding is how much the venue already includes. From tables and chairs to linens, glassware, flatware, and place settings, Harvest Inn provides nearly everything you need for a beautifully executed wedding. This not only simplifies the planning process but also allows couples to be more intentional with their design investments. Of course, specialty rentals can always be layered in to personalize the space, but using most of what Harvest Inn offers in-house creates a strong foundation that keeps both logistics and budgets streamlined.

A favorite design approach is to mix and match what the venue provides with a few carefully chosen rentals. Harvest Inn offers both round tables (included) and farm tables (for a fee) for dinner, giving couples flexibility to create visual variety and personality in their tablescape design. A simple upgrade that makes a big difference is renting napkins in colors that complement your wedding palette. This small detail instantly elevates place settings and ties the entire design together in a thoughtful, cohesive way.

Another major advantage is that Harvest Inn does not require a dance floor be rented. The Vineyard View Room features beautiful oak wood floors that serve perfectly as your dance floor, saving couples both money and logistical complexity while maintaining the room's elegant, cohesive aesthetic.

For added guest entertainment, consider incorporating lawn games during cocktail hour. Harvest Inn has lawn games available, which creates a fun, relaxed atmosphere and gives guests something interactive to enjoy while sipping cocktails and taking in the vineyard views.
INSIDER TIP: If you're planning to have your reception extend past 10:00 pm — which is absolutely possible indoors at Harvest Inn — be sure to offer late-night snacks to keep the party going strong. Popular options include truffle fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, or other crowd-pleasing bites that give guests energy to dance into the night.

The existing market lights over the Vineyard View Terrace are a huge design advantage, creating a warm, romantic glow for dinner without requiring additional lighting rentals.
Willow & Ben Photography
Inside the Vineyard View Room, the venue provides standard ceiling lighting, but couples can elevate the ambiance by renting uplighting through their DJ, band, or planner. Uplighting transforms the space, washing the walls and beamed ceilings in color and creating a true party atmosphere that energizes the dance floor.
Gina Petersen Photography
INSIDER TIP: Fill the fireplace in the Vineyard View Room with electric pillar candles for added warmth and atmosphere. This simple touch creates a beautiful focal point and enhances the room's romantic, intimate feel without any safety concerns.
By leveraging Harvest Inn's extensive in-house offerings and making a few strategic design upgrades, couples can create a high-impact, visually stunning wedding without unnecessary complexity or expense — a true win for both style and budget.
How Much Does a Harvest Inn Wedding Cost?
A Harvest Inn Napa wedding is considered an exceptional value in Napa Valley, with pricing that reflects the resort's beautiful setting, excellent cuisine, accommodations, and overall guest experience while remaining more accessible than some of the valley's ultra-luxury venues. Many factors affect the price of a wedding, such as guest count, season, design choices, vendor selections, and complexity of the event.
As a very rough starting point, we recommend budgeting around $900 - $1500+ per guest for a 100-person wedding to cover essential vendors (planner, florist, DJ, hair and makeup, photographer, signage, etc.), and Harvest Inn and plus Harvest Inn catering expenses. This estimate does not include some additional design upgrades or specialty rentals, such as custom linens, chargers, lounge furniture, upgraded lighting, transportation, or a live band instead of a DJ.
At a budget of $900+ per guest, your Harvest Inn Napa wedding would include classic tables, chairs, linens, glassware, plates, and flatware provided by the venue. Floral designs would be elegant and thoughtfully styled, though likely more modest in scale and fullness. Entertainment would typically include a professional DJ rather than a live band, still creating a fun, high-energy dance floor and memorable guest experience.

Because Harvest Inn includes so many essentials in-house — from furniture and place setting items to staffing and the gorgeous market lights over the terrace — couples often find that their overall budget stretches further, allowing them to invest more intentionally in florals, photography, guest experience, and entertainment rather than infrastructure and rentals.
INSIDER TIP: Consider hiring string musicians for your ceremony and cocktail hour to add the beauty and emotion of live music, and make sure your DJ includes dance lighting to keep the energy high once the party moves indoors to the Vineyard View Room. This option offers a significant impact without dramatically increasing your budget.

Elaine & Jordan's Unforgettable Harvest Inn Wedding
Elaine and Jordan’s Harvest Inn wedding was one of those weddings that guests will talk about for years to come. It was truly an unforgettable wedding. They are two of the most energetic, fun-loving couples I have found. Their adoration of dancing and making sure everyone is having a blast is only topped by their love for their Goldendoodle, Murphy. I always looked forward to their wedding planning calls because I knew I was going to have a fun time. Elaine had a vision for the wedding, which made our time together even more productive, and the wedding day design came together perfectly. Their Harvest Inn wedding was energetic, fun, and unique, just like them (and Murphy).
The Couple
Elaine and Jordan are a cool San Francisco couple. They both are very driven young professionals, and when they are not working hard, they are trying new restaurants in the city. They also devote a lot of time, cuddles, and Instagram stories to their adorable and energetic Goldendoodle, Murphy. He loves getting out of the city with his parents to go hiking, on walks, and trying restaurants in Napa.
Why They Chose a Harvest Inn Wedding
Elaine and Jordan chose a Harvest Inn wedding because they love visiting wine country, and it’s a quick trip from San Francisco, which made it optimal for friends and family attending. At Harvest Inn, they really fell in love with the redwood trees and the inviting guest rooms, plus the stunning acres of vineyards that surround the property.
Planning a Harvest Inn Wedding
Elaine and Jordan’s wedding was all about elevated fun. Elaine thoughtfully picked out each piece of the design so that everything would go together perfectly and have just enough color. The gold cursive place cards were the perfect customized detail.
They also included nods to their Jewish heritage. They had a ketubah signing with their immediate families before the ceremony. At the ceremony, they had a basket of kippahs and, of course, glass breaking at the end of the ceremony. Once on the dance floor, they danced the Horah with their friends and family.
A Harvest Inn Wedding Day
Their Harvest Inn wedding was in early June, which can be either a heatwave or a bit rainy. The weather was cool with a chance of showers at night, so they decided a few days before their wedding to have dinner outside and the dancing inside.
One of the wonderful perks of Harvest Inn is the ability to customize a rain plan. You can easily choose between a tent or use one of their beautiful event rooms.
Elaine and Jordan’s guests dined under the stars and had a non-stop dance party inside the Vineyard View room (even Murphy made an appearance on the dance floor).
One thing that will always stand out to me is all the dancing, and not just on the dance floor. They danced in for their grand entrance (as did their wedding party), and they danced during sunset photos, which resulted in really cool photos. Thankfully, they hired a videographer who captured all the fun and unexpected dancing. They wanted a band that would get everyone dancing and picked one of our favorites (Pop Rocks). The dance party with Pop Rocks was one of the huge highlights of the event, and people danced until the last note played.

From their Napa Wedding Planner
Elaine and Jordan found us on the Harvest Inn weddings preferred vendors list. During our first call (before they booked), I remember how chill they were, but also that they were good at planning, and Elaine had clear ideas about design. I knew I wanted to work with them as soon as we hung up.
One really cool and unique thing that Elaine and Jordan did was to take dance lessons for their first dance. They didn’t do a traditional dance; instead, they had a dance instructor choreograph a personalized dance for them, and it was super cool and one of a kind! Now I highly recommend this for any couple looking for a way to customize their wedding and add a “wow” factor for their guests.
“Lovely Day Events and Lindsey were absolutely incredible. Lindsey’s expertise in not only all-things wedding planning related, but her EXTRAORDINARY network of equally impressive vendors cannot be understated.
From super helpful tools+resources to make the planning process as easy as possible, to coordinating and helping manage vendor calls, to day-of support - Lindsey made our wedding unforgettable, not only for my wife and me but for all of our guests.
Lindsey also displays a high level of emotional intelligence and empathy. She has a knack for knowing exactly when to make a recommendation, or take a step back and let the couple decide (and always with as much information as possible to make an informed decision).
Literally EVERY vendor was 5-star, and somehow Lindsey worked her magic to change the weather from a rainy forecast to stalling the rain until the festivities ended.
Lindsey was accountable, kept things moving forward, and was ardent/steadfast in our wedding planning. Day of, she was a source of calm that made the day run fluidly and without a hitch [except us getting hitched ;)].
We owe our unforgettable day to Lindsey, and if we have to do it again, or refer a friend, Lindsey would be top of the list without an ounce of hesitation.
For a wedding 1.5 years in the making, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all of her help, suggestions, and ability to create the wedding we could only have dreamed of, become a fairytale reality. Our appreciation will be lifelong, and we truly cannot thank you enough.”
Check out Elaine and Jordan’s really fun custom choreographed first dance.
