Associate Event Planner
This is a contractor position that reports to the owner of Lovely Day Events and is responsible for planning and executing weddings based on the Essential Coordination model. A planner must be able to work independently while maintaining the consistency of the Lovely Day Events model and client experience. Must have an A++++ personality, event planning experience (preferably with weddings), superior customer service skills, enthusiasm about weddings, and professionalism. Pay: DOE, hourly, contract position
Experience
2+ years of event planning experience, preferably in weddings
Skills:
The perfect event planner will be extremely detail-oriented, professional, provide excellent customer service, and always have a smile (even when guests are driving you nuts).
Proficient on computers, comfortable with MS Excel and MS Word, experience with Google Docs and Dropbox
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including prompt communication
Highly organized
Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a limited time frame
Works well with limited supervision; the ability to work independently is essential
Excellent customer service
Able to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules at a time
Must possess strong communication skills, ability to manage time, self-starter, and quick
thinker
Styling: Setting up and breaking down event items and furniture. Detailing and breaking
down items such as programs, escort cards, decor, tables, chairs, linens, place settings,
table top décor, etc.
Able to work long hours on your feet for 10+ hours
Physical Requirements:
Able to be on your feet for many hours (10-16) at a time and be able to move furniture and décor.
Attire:
Professional, conservative, and cute/stylish
No bra straps, cleavage, or underwear showing
Closed-toe shoes are required at all times

Sample Of Wedding Day Responsibilities
Point person for all vendors and their questions
Troubleshooting last-minute changes and making quick decisions
Coordinate flow, keep the wedding on schedule
At the ceremony coordinate musicians, bridal party entrance, parent seating, exit
At reception coordinate with musicians, caterers, and photographers to keep the reception flowing and on schedule
Work with venue/site staff to decorate/set up the ceremony and reception items
Distribute last payments and gratuity to services
Create the final departure (glow wands, flower petals, etc.)
Clean up client’s personal decorations and belongings at the reception
Coordinate with the designated person to take all belongings and gifts from the site to the lodging
Supervise clean-up by vendors
Bring a wedding day Emergency Bag
